L3Harris TCOM seeks a Field Service Representative dedicated to the field support of tactical communications equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational integrity and performance of our products, with a focus on technical support, engineering activities, and quality management to meet business objectives. The Field Service Representative will collaborate closely with program management, systems engineering and applications engineering teams to identify issues and implement solutions, analyze performance data for continuous improvement, and drive cost efficiencies. Commitment to the e3 (excellence, everywhere, everyday) standard is essential for maintaining product quality and enhancing customer engagement. Responsibilities include field support, formal and informal training, site surveys, installations, equipment maintenance, effective daily communication with stakeholders, timely reporting of equipment status, and management of component requisitions to support operations and program management. This duration of this position is for two years, with the possibility of extension beyond it. Should the position not be extended, the candidate will be offered the opportunity to relocate to Rochester, NY and join the larger Technical Customer Service organization.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

 

  • Provide L3Harris tactical communications products support at the customer’s location and/or L3Harris locations, near the assigned military installation and other customer sites worldwide.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations, training sessions, and field exercises.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tactical communications solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to master and teach complex technical systems and waveforms.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, tailored for a variety of audiences.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time, including potential overtime as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Account and Program Management team to achieve business goals through customer interactions and support.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Tactical Communications experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Radio Repair & Operations experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Communications experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check and to obtain a US Secret level clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

 

  • Knowledge of L3Harris/RF Communications (AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-158, AN/PRC-160, RF-410D, AN/PRC-167) and VSAT terminal products
  • RF/Radio or related tactical communications experience preferred.
  • Experience with the U.S. Army specialized units
  • Experience running Factory Test Stations.
  • Knowledge of Product Service database (Oracle EBS)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work and learn in fast paced production environment.
  • Experience with Windows office suite
  • Knowledge of network systems administration, wireless networking, and IT support, including networking router technologies
