Job Description:

The Field Engineering Specialist performs aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems in accordance with applicable technical data. Tows and positions aircraft.  Fly with the aircraft to provide off station maintenance support, removes and installs aircraft avionics, hydraulic components, landing gear, tires, and struts.  Performs engine removals and installations.  Checks for work correctness. Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance manuals.  Implements preventive maintenance programs, documents performance and maintenance records on aircraft and equipment.  This position is a second shift (1530-2330) opening.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours or outside regularly scheduled hours to meet company objectives.  
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.
  • Ability to maintain flight status requirements
  • Ability to work alone or within a group
  • Position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
  • Position will include lifting, bending, and climbing. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain all required clearance(s).
  • Active A&P License (Airframe and Powerplant)
  • Ability to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training.
  • Ability to maintain flight status requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • DHC-6, Caravan 208B, CN235 and CN295 experience very desirable.
  • Dehaviland, Textron and Airbus Aircraft / PWC and GE engine experience very desirable
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work alone or within a group.
