What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Monitor and manage customs compliance across shipments including HMRC CDS entries.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, and brokers to facilitate smooth clearance processes
  • Assist with resolving customs issues, discrepancies, and potential risks.
  • Maintain documentation for Customs & Export compliance, including import/export instructions, trade data, and audit records.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, and domestic/international regulations.
  • Prepare reports and provide data on trade compliance and customs activities.
  • Assist in internal audits and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for customs purposes.
  • Making basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems.
  • Identifies, defines and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area with some impact on department results.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in import records and procedures.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritising effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick and efficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Meticulous in managing and handling documentation.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Eagerness to learn and progress within the company.
