The Engineering Team are responsible for the through-life support of in-service tactical radio products and the development of products and systems to meet next generation customer requirements. The small multi-disciplinary engineering team comprises system, software, hardware and mechanical engineers.
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated graduate engineer who can contribute to the full lifecycle of tactical radio products and systems from research and development through to the sustainment and enhancement of existing in-service products. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary environment and will be involved in hardware / system design, obsolescence management and the operation/enhancement of test facilities. The Graduate Engineer will gain hand-on experience whilst ensuring compliance with demanding military and industry standards. We are seeking good communication skills to be able to discuss complex technical matters with other engineers and non-technical staff to develop appropriate solutions.
This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and there will be daily interaction with other engineers and frequent contact with team members from within the company and partner organisations.

What you can expect:
- Support the design, integration and testing of military radio systems and related electronic hardware.
- Assist with hardware fault diagnosis, testing and verification activities.
- Contribute to component obsolescence management including risk assessments, redesign support and liaison with suppliers.
- Support the development and maintenance of automated and manual test facilities.
- Work collaboratively with systems, software and other disciplines to ensure successful delivery of secure, reliable and resilient communications systems.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including design descriptions and test reports.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related science or engineering discipline.
- Proficient with standard office applications (e.g. Microsoft 365) and relevant computer based engineering tools.
- Sound understanding of electronic principles, electronic circuits and test methods.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable:
- Knowledge of RF and radio frequency communication principles.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators).
- Awareness of component obsolescence management strategies.
- Knowledge of computer networks and automated test environments.
- Previous placement or project experience in defence, aerospace or secure communications advantageous
