Job Description:

The successful candidate will be experienced in performing complex testing and troubleshooting of weapons systems, avionics systems/subsystems, communication/navigation systems, flight instrument systems, ATFLIR, electronic countermeasures, and radar systems.  Provide technical assistance and guidance during aircrew de-briefs.  Other duties required are; assist in the maintenance of the other systems on the aircraft, read and interpret technical directives, planning documents, test specifications, technical publications and procedures, and applicable safety manuals.  Perform towing, marshalling, and positioning of aircraft on flight line.  Provide general flight line maintenance to support program requirements.  Perform major and minor unscheduled maintenance IAW military T.O’s, commercial maintenance manuals, and service bulletins.  Perform other related tasks as required in support of engineering, testing, and production for the program. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Working knowledge of 4790 series, Periodic Maintenance Information Cards/Maintenance Requirement Cards.
  • Must have requisite basic tools prior to starting to work. Tools must be shadowed and engraved, L3Harris will provide the material to complete this task once hired
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O specs, and engineering specifications. 
  • Ability to assemble close tolerance parts and use common hand tools. 
  • Must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to be certified to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and aircraft tow vehicles. 
  • Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at close distances to eyes. 
  • Willingness to pass a flight line physical.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, and work in close spaces that restrict movement for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. 
  • Ability to work in the following environmental conditions:  noise, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odor, and dust. 
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift, weekends, and be available for overtime hours as required. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

 

Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 4 years avionics experience any of the following:  P-8 or other relevant aircraft experience. 
  • Minimum 4 years experience with the Navy’s NALCOMIS/OOMA/ASM/CSEC computer systems. 
  • Ability to pass flight line physical. 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Fiber Optic repair school
  • A&P License
