Job Description:  

As the premier provider of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission solutions for the United States Space Force, L3Harris is looking for a candidate to develop advanced cloud engineering concepts for the Agile Portfolio Engineering (APE) program. L3Harris is seeking professionals to work in a dynamic environment to solve challenging technical problems. Individuals will perform system software development, design, implementation, test, and configuration management. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is onsite located in Colorado Springs, CO and requires a TS/SCI Security Clearance. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Design, develop, and implement project and cross-project solutions using modern virtualization technologies (esp. VMware Cloud Foundation/Kubernetes Services) and DevSecOps practices and technologies (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, etc.).
  • Lead and/or support fast-moving Agile projects and participate in Scrum team activities to include writing epics, user stories and tasks.
  • Support platform/application/network connectivity troubleshooting between systems and sites.
  • Inform senior technical management of systems status by preparing reports on systems performance problems.
  • Support the project management team by producing technical briefings and communicating with the customer.
  • Monitor systems environments and make recommendations for logistics planning.
  • Develop, implement and support STIG remediation and patch deployment plans, and communicate with cyber security personnel to provide accreditation updates.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees.
  • Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.
  • Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, lead DevSecOps teams/projects, and communicate effectively with different levels of management and staff.
  • Provision/manage Kubernetes development/test/ops environments, to include environment and application monitoring via Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Plan and implement platform and pipeline patch management, to include post-patch application testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience developing software in Java and Python.
  • Active U.S. DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Active DoD 8570 certification (e.g. Security+ CE, Network+ CE, CISSP, etc.).
  • Experience contributing to a team using Scaled Agile Framework methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and automated-testing software.
  • Java and .NET application development, deployment, management and security.
  • Experience with private cloud provisioning/management (i.e. Infrastructure as a Service/Platform as a Service).
  • Experience completing DoD accreditation requirements (e.g. hardware/software lists, STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, PPSM, etc.).

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Oracle or PostgreSQL deployment, management and security
  • Virtualization implementation and management across multiple VMware Cloud Foundation environments and multiple data centers, including performance metrics and analysis.
  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $95,000 - $177,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
