Job Description:  

L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer Specialist to join our team as a Field Service Representative in supporting the Wideband Satellite Communications Operations and Technical Support II (WSOTS II) Contract.  The primary responsibilities will be accomplished at the work centers local to Colorado Springs, with travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites (travel totaling up to 35% of the year).

 

 

Essential Functions: 

The Specialist Technical Support Engineering duties include but are not limited to:

  • Travels to locations within the scope of the contract to render field services for United States Space Force Contract W91260-19-C-0001 (WSOTS II).
  • Performs analysis to include: (1) Operating Systems: Windows 2012/16 Server, Windows 10/11, (2) Application Software: Common Network Planning System (CNPS), Solar Winds, (3) Database applications: SQL, (4) Network Protocols: TCP/IP, FTP, and SNMP.
  • Coordinates with WSOMS sites for the scheduling of software upgrades and releases and confirms patches and fixes have been applied and implemented correctly.
  • Recommends and implements engineering design changes required to adapt technical requirements.
  • Performs on-site customer training to include interface with technical representatives. Perform On-the-Job Training (OJT) and informal training support as required.
  • Performs daily review of audit, security, and application logs and identifies problem areas or trends and takes the proper action and generates required reports.
  • Maintains firewall rule sets and related parameters, Intrusion Detection Software (IDS), reviews audit logs and takes required corrective action when an intrusion is detected. Following reconfiguration, satellite and network performance analysis to confirm the effectiveness of the reconfiguration and identify anomalies. Analyzes DSCS and WGS network configurations and link performance.
  • Provides administration support to site SIPR and NIPR network communication systems.
  • Performs hardware maintenance, documents deficiencies affecting performance or effectiveness: Dell Servers (CNPS Subsystem), RAID disk configurations, PCs (DOSS Subsystem), and CISCO networking hardware (DOSS Subsystem), WANs and LANs.
  • Experience with Account management, PKI cert management, LDAP configuration/management.
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date cybersecurity configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices.
  • Conduct weekly cybersecurity system audits.
  • Support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Qualifications: (refer to Career Framework)

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g. CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP, or CCNA Security).

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of MILSATCOM experience with emphasis on computer-based satellite network control systems and IT. Experience in the use of IT tools for managing and troubleshooting complex computer networks.
  • Experience in the management of WSOTS II computer networks with skills particular to the administration of a Windows and AD domain environment.
  • Security administration experience in support of RMF requirements.
  • Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers.
  • Experience with continuous integration, build management, and/or automated test frameworks.
  • Hardware/software requirement verification/system validation experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and grow in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated self-starter - efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $62,00 - $115,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
