Job Description:

 

L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Logistics Support Engineer to join our team in providing obsolescence, availability, and part production research to support Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) analysis for the operational systems within the MOSSAIC contract.

 

Essential Functions:

 

The Specialist, Logistics duties include but are not limited to:

  • Research and analyze the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues for the ground-based radar, ground-based optical and Space Situational Awareness Command and Control weapons systems.
  • Develop and author obsolescence Supply Supportability Analysis Reports (SSAR).
  • Monitor the repair cycle assets for the targeted weapon system for end of life/service support. Research vanishing vendors and support from secondary market.
  • Monitor assets for potential or suspect counterfeit parts
  • Monitor the secondary support market for reduced support
  • Brief at Supply Support Integrated Product Team (SSIPT) meetings to senior level government representatives on a semiannual basis.
  • Provides supply analysis through material/parts research, warranty tracking, and coordination with the OEMs.
  • Exercise logistics analysis utilizing standard practices and processes.
  • Develop and present supply support analysis during SSIPTs.  Utilize outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills and be capable of developing and presenting reports and presentations to the project teams, weapon system management and customer personnel in a clear, articulate and concise manner.
  • Provide supply analysis through material/parts research, warranty tracking, and coordination with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Exercise logistics analysis utilizing standard practices and processes.
  • Provide analysis using logistics tools and metrics.
  • Record logistics management information utilizing logistics support software system.
  • Support the research and updating of form, fit, function replacement items on the systems.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (CONUS/OCONUS).

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Operations, Maintenance, or Logistics experience with fixed Air Force / Space Force space surveillance systems. 
  • Experience/familiarity with ground based optical or radar surveillance systems (as an operator/maintainer/trainer or as a contractor).
  • Develops and maintains Logistics Management Information using MIL-PRF-49506 as guidance.
  • Working knowledge of acquisition life cycle processes and product development.
  • Understand drawing and specification hierarchy and development.
  • Familiar with DoD and commercial logistics tools and databases: FedLog, GIDEP, WebFLIS, FEDLOG, D043, GOLD as well as various LMI Programs.  Extensive knowledge of LMI/LSA data products.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.100), technical order development, and configuration control practices.
  • Possess technical skills to understand RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) and Life Cycle Cost modeling.
  • Experience applying ITAR/EAR compliance, export control policies, and maintenance contract management for warranty repairs.
  • Background in electronics systems maintenance and support equipment operations preferred.

 

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $57,000-$106,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
