Job Description:
As a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer, you will contribute to a diverse technical team on the Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) Space Surveillance Telescope (SST) team. This position supports the Space Defense portfolio within the Space & Mission Systems segment, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a system engineering role where you can make a broad impact on programs and projects that are critical to our customers!
Essential Functions:
- 2+ years’ experience with SysML/MBSE
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors
- Ability to negotiate solutions among functional groups (Systems Engineering, Mission Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.)
- Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experience
- Strong coordination and organization skills with a focus on details
- Proficient with domain knowledge (space systems engineering, ground optical systems, general systems)
- Participate in agile execution, MBSE, and requirements analysis.
- Possess interpersonal leadership skills with support to customers, including meetings and briefings.
- Possess DoD engineering experience, System Development Life Cycle knowledge, Familiarity with DoD 5000.
- Experience with DoD Systems Engineering artifacts (SEP, SEMP, TEMP, CMP, DMP).
- Experience with INCOSE and/or NASA Systems Engineering Handbook requirements writing guide.
- Potential 10% travel required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with and knowledge of Space Domain Awareness mission and systems
- Experience with MagicDraw MBSE tool
- Experience with development and editing of MBSE diagrams, requirements, use-cases, and traceability to requirements
- Experience with Engineering Drawings and traceability MagicDraw
- Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORs) experience
- SysML/MBSE experience
- Willingness to travel to remote location for up to a month per year
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $92,500-$171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
