Job Description:
As the prime integrator of the National Space Test & Training Range Orbital (NSTTC-O) for the United States Space Force, L3Harris is looking for a candidate to develop and sustain the Range Control Software (RCS) integration environment as part of a cross-functional DevSecOps team. L3Harris is seeking professionals to work in a dynamic environment to solve challenging technical problems. Individuals will perform RCS system automation design, development, implementation, test, configuration management, sustainment, and customer support. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle and cloud-based infrastructure automation using Ansible. This position is onsite located in Colorado Springs, CO, and requires a Top-Secret Security Clearance.


Essential Functions:
•    Lead Software Engineer with an active development role, providing oversight and technical leadership to software development projects to ensure quality and alignment with strategic objectives.
•    Serve as a Product Owner, facilitating Agile software development processes and ensuring that software products meet high standards of usability, functionality, and scalability.
•    Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including basic services such as EC2, S3, AMIs, and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs).
•    Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Ansible and/or Puppet.
•    Design, develop, and test software applications for large-scale operational systems.
•    Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
•    Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance within the job area.
•    Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and is responsible for communicating with parties external to the organization.


Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. 
•    Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security clearance.
•    3 years of experience in a Lead Software Engineer role, providing technical leadership and oversight on large-scale software projects.
•    5 years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) including basic services such as EC2, S3, AMIs, and VPCs.
•    3 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Ansible and/or Puppet.
•    5 years of experience using open-source container platforms such as Kubernetes/Docker or others.


Preferred Additional Skills:
•    Background in technical leadership roles and product ownership within Agile frameworks.
•    Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
•    Experience with OpenStack Platform (OSP) Nova management.
•    Amazon Web Services Certification.
•    Microsoft System Administrator (MCSA) Certification.
•    CompTIA Security+ or better certification.
•    Experience working in Kubernetes environments.
•    Experience working with an Agile software development team with regular release cycles.
•    Familiarity with Platform One tools (Jira, Mattermost, Confluence, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
•    Proven ability to act as a SAFe Product Owner, managing Agile software development processes to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
•    Strong experience documenting operations and maintenance activities.
•    Experience with system compliance requirements implementation per Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
•    Work with DevOps team to design and deploy Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in hybrid virtual machine and Kubernetes environments.
•    Deliver automation to provision and deploy complex systems in commercial and private clouds.
•    Utilize software languages such as Python, Ruby, and Groovy to accomplish automation customization.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $84,500 - $157,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
