Perform technical writing in support of all phases of Technical Order (TO) sustainment and development

Research technical data, organize ideas, and use clear communication skills to document procedural content

Work with engineers to translate engineering concepts and actions into clear and concise TO content

Convert MSWord-based or non-editable technical data into Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) TO manuals
-
Incorporate Air Force (AF) TO Forms 22 and 252 redline change requests into legacy TOs
-
Incorporate approved internal and external review comments into legacy TOs
-
Work in accordance with AF TO requirements, DoD MIL-STDs, and SENSOR Internal Operating Procedures (IOP), Joint Internal Operating Procedures (JIOP), and other contractor-specific internal processes
Essential Functions:
- Design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate optical systems.
- Employ modeling tools, perform laboratory experimentations.
- Ability to operate all optical related equipment to successfully execute tasks to include data reductions, evaluation of result, and delivery/presentation to audience
- Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Perform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineers.
- Work with a technical leader on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and ensure successful outcome through program milestones.
Qualifications:
- To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, or a related field, or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
Preferred Skills:

AF TO development and sustainment writing experience

SGML tagging environment writing experience

Familiarity with AF TO requirements and DoD MIL-STDs for technical orders and manuals

Redlining PDF files using Adobe Professional
The salary range for this role in Colorado state is $48,500 - $90,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
