About your next Challenge as a Aircraft Structures:
As an ACS technician, you will perform first and second line repairs, modifications and inspections IAW approved technical directives. Technicians are expected to instructor DND apprentices under training and support Military personnel by assisting technicians in both refinishing and structural repair second line shops.
What will you do:
- Document non-conformities according to established procedures;
- Draft and complete inspection reports and Work Orders accurately;
- Minimum 6 years' experience on aircraft;
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and discipline as detailed in CFTOs;
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections and report results to Supervisor;
- Act as a team member, providing assistance to other crew members as required;
- Perform regular inspection and maintenance of support equipment, ensuring serviceability;
- Observe and adhere to all safety regulations in the performance of duties,
- Maintain Job Site /shop cleanliness, in compliance with safety regulations;
- Assist in initiating technical and administrative reports as required;
- Forward supply requirements to section supply coordinator in a timely fashion, ensuring stock levels are maintained;
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Graduated from a TCCA recognized AME Training program focused on “S” Rating; or
- Completed RCAF ACS training, preferably with fleet on-type focused training;
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong experience with refinishing of aircraft and aircraft parts
- Strong experience with aerospace composite repairs
- Strong ability to understand and read technical drawing and engineering orders;
- Very good knowledge of CF-18 structure and drawings;
- Knowledge of Canadian Forces aircraft maintenance operation;
- Be conversant with CFTOs and other technical information pertaining to NDT inspection procedures;
- Ability to work independently, with minimal direction or as part of a team;
- Ability to present ideas/solutions to peers, technical staff, customers and supervisors (e.g., new or improvement processes, procedures);
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new software systems; and
- Proven organizational ability.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
