Title: Air Weapons Technician

L3Harris MAS is currently seeking permanent Aircraft Technicians (Armament) to join our team in Cold Lake, Alberta, supporting our long-term program with the Department of National Defence (DND).
About your next Challenge as an Air Weapons Technician:
In this role, you will perform inspections, modifications, repairs, and maintenance on CF-18 aircraft and associated weapon systems. You may also work within the component Repair Workshop, supporting the repair and maintenance of CF-18 weapon system components.
What will you do:
- Perform complex mechanical work, inspections, and operational checks on CF-18 weapon systems, in accordance with Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs), technical drawings, and standard processes.
- Prepare aircraft and configure weapon systems for flight or customer acceptance.
- Verify, adjust, repair, or replace complex devices and equipment, including:
- Missile launchers
- Bomb launchers
- Bomb and rocket distributors
- Fuselage and wing pylons
- Weapon system components
- Suspension and release mechanisms for:
- Inspect and test fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, flight control, and landing gear systems using approved test equipment.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Health and Safety, Flight Safety, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention procedures.
- Participate in required training and information sessions.
- Report technical and scheduling issues, additional resource needs, and team well-being concerns to your Team Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain control of tools and equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete all required forms, logs, inspection sheets, and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Support DND technicians by providing on-the-job training and mentoring, leveraging your CF-18 experience to enhance team capability.

All technicians must adhere to established administrative and technical standards, including:
- Health and Safety policies
- FOD (Foreign Object Damage) prevention
- Flight Safety standards
- Documentation and recordkeeping requirements
- Work instructions and process specifications
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics, Mechanical, or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- CF-18 endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience with CF-18 aircraft systems
- Strong communication skills in English oral and written (French is an asset)
- Effective trainer and mentor, with the ability to guide and support others
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
