Job Description:

 

The experienced Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for planning and execution of complex designs in large teams to ensure proper system functionality. Senior C/C++ embedded systems developer that understands Software/Hardware co-design, Distributed systems design, and Software/Computer Architecture.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead and contribute to requirements analysis, design, code and unit test, integration and test, requirements sell off, and operations and maintenance of embedded software systems.
  • Ensure that products/projects delivered meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Drive process improvements to aid in team coordination and maintain delivery schedule.
  • Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a lead software engineering and / or software systems role with a complex design.
  • Experience with executing throughout the full development lifecycle including requirements flow-down and allocation, design, development, test, and sell-off.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall Methodologies.
  • Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledgeable of safety-critical software development / DO-178 C or above industry standards.
  • Experience of complex systems with a focus on mission computing, memory systems, and/or displays.
  • Direct Government customer interface experience (e.g. US Air Force, US Navy, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Skills and Technologies: Linux/Linux Engineering including kernel modules and device drivers, Bash/Python, Intel x86/ARM/FPGA/SoC, Embedded System Design, Release Engineering, Understanding of Change and Configuration Management, Continuous Integration, Network and Communication Protocols and Topology, Debug/Trace Analysis, DO 178 / DO 254 / ARINC 653 / Avionics, Electronic Warfare, Real-time Operating Systems like VxWorks/LynxOS/Integrity, Software Integration, Test, Verification/Validation, UML Design, ADA 83 & 95.

In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $109,500 - $203,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
