Job Description:
Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Quality Engineer (PQE). This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes across the lifecycle of a program – from development through production and delivery. Working under general supervision, you'll develop plans to meet requirements and operational goals with a significant impact on department results, using expertise in quality processes and project management. You'll effectively develop robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, explaining operational processes and taking initiative as the functional leader for assigned programs/products, ensuring open communication and resolution of quality-related matters.
Essential Functions:
· Serve as the quality engineering representative for assigned programs
· Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle
· Chair Material Review Board and Failure Review Board activities for assigned programs.
· Interpret customer contracts, specifications, statements of work, and regulatory requirements to develop Program Quality Plans
· Review and approve engineering documentation including drawings, work instructions, and test plans for quality compliance
· Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action (RCCA)
· Support internal and external audits, including AS9100, and customer audits
· Track and report quality metrics and FRACAS reporting. (nonconformances trends, escape trends etc.).
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives in support of program and organizational goals
· Interface with regulatory bodies regarding quality issues and resolutions as required
· Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure compliance and flow down of applicable requirements.
· Analyze manufacturing quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
· Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing process efficiency.
· Present quality metrics to customers, providing assessment and actions to drive improvement.
· Assess the need for First Article Inspections (FAIs) based on trigger events defined in AS9102 and/or contractual flow down and facilitate their completion.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
· Secret US Security Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100, AS9145, AS9102)
· Knowledge of RCCA processes and methodology
· Experienced in the MRB Process and working in a manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
· Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment while maintaining professional Quality separation
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $82,500 - $153,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
