Job Description:  

 

Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer will review, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished hardware on highly complex electronic & mechanical spaceflight assemblies. Works independently. Proven ability to drive FRB/MRB activities to closure.  Ability to generate relevant metrics and present them to internal and external customers.  Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees. Responsible for managing complex projects at this level, involving delegation of work and review of work products.

 

Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary. Responsible for continuous improvement focus and ZDP execution. Will execute with Program Management, IPTs, and Quality Leadership to report status and process improvements. Partners with other functions to achieve efficient resolution of issues without compromise to quality.

 

Essential Functions: 

 

  • Perform and evaluate root cause and corrective action to correct product/process deficiencies
  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Performs other Quality Engineering tasks as assigned to support the Quality Management System of the organization.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in supporting design, development, manufacturing and/or quality engineering activities OR, Master’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in supporting design, development, manufacturing and/or quality engineering activities
  • Security Clearance required for role:  Secret
