Job Description:

The Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
  • Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for the electronics assemblies. 
  • Create detailed work instructions, procedures, PFMEAs, and JSAs that meet design, process, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Provide shop floor support for SMT, PTH CCA assembly and rework.
  • Provide technical guidance and/or training to the shop floor, design and management teams. 
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications in support of developing robust and advanced part and tooling designs.
  • Interface with all of the related support groups for processes to ensure accuracy, control and safety of the personnel and quality of the hardware.
  • Perform investigations of nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Present fabrication processes at customer readiness reviews and present process changes to customers at change board meetings.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge and/or experience with VHDL, MCM, Power, Analog, Controls, Aerospace industry or Optical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational concepts.
  • Familiarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows).
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001 and/or IPC-620.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $82,500.00 - $153,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
