Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a third shift Environmental Test Engineer to assist in running the operation of the Clifton Environmental Test facility. Candidate will be responsible for the completion of production Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Qualification testing (Temperature, Vibration, Altitude, Humidity) of all products produced in the Electronic Warfare sector. Test operations are conducted 24/7. Strong hands-on skills are required along with a good understanding of electronic circuits. Previous experience is a major plus, in addition to overall instrumentation experience.  We may consider engineers for other shifts as well.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Perform Environmental Testing- Temperature, Vibration, Altitude, and Humidity – of all products.
  • Set up equipment, run, and monitor environmental test.
  • Report and communicate information related to tests.
  • Participate in department activities, such as Shop Meetings, processing of paperwork, communication, and tracking of issue resolution.
  • Participate in failure Root Cause Analysis.
  • Train other personnel in similar roles.
  • Communicate with department team members regarding status and next actions.
  • Perform instrumentation of Qualification units, interacting with several stakeholders, such as Managers, Engineers, Technicians, and Customers.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance required.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Deep understanding of and ability to follow production schedules and traveler sequences appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently upon completion of onboarding and training.
  • Laboratory hands-on experience a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $88,500 - $164,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
