Job Description:

L3Harris in Clifton, NJ is seeking a versatile Digital Circuit Card Assembly design engineer to support the design and manufacturing of Electronic Warfare (EW) products for ground and airborne-based military applications.  The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of digital circuit design with emphasis on Processor, Digital receiver and Interface design and development.

Essential Functions:

·         Responsible for all aspects of Digital CCA product development, including system and module level design and definition, schematic capture, circuit design, derating, and Worst-Case Analysis (WCA).

·         Prepare and present engineering design concepts and data results for IDR/PDR/CDR.

·         Support internal peer reviews, design verification testing of engineering units, and oversight of production.

·         Perform circuit analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

·         Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results

·         Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.

·         Write scripts to control synthesis and build tools

·         Conduct design verification testing of engineering units and provide oversight of design through production

·         Digital Design requires experience with:

o    Programmable logic devices

o    Digital Logic

o    Digital communications interfaces such as SPI, PCIe, Ethernet

o    High density interconnect and semiconductor packaging technology

o    Digital Signal Processors chips

o    Waveform generation

o    Writing Scripts

o    Lab equipment

Qualifications:

·         BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required and at least 4 years of years of industry experience OR: MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of industry experience

·         Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level

·         Experience performing schematic capture and overseeing PCB layout

·         Minimum 4 years of experience supporting Digital HW design, test and integration at the circuit card or module level (schematic capture, BOM generation, layout or layout supervision).

·         Understanding of digital design fundamentals to include modem architectures, power supplies, interfacing with ADCs, FPGAs, and more.

·         Ability to independently develop test procedures and conduct design verification testing.

Preferred Additional Skills:

·         Knowledge and/or experience with VHDL, HFSS, Network, Power, Analog, Antennas, Controls, ENE, RF, Photonics, EDA, DSP, MATLAB, Communication Systems, FPGA, Aerospace industry or Optical Engineering

·         Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills

·         Knowledge of MATLAB, Python

·         Experience with CCA design verification test/troubleshooting

·         Knowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational concepts

·         Familiarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows)

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, 
New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $92,500 - $171,500.
