Job Description:
L3Harris in Clifton, NJ is seeking an accomplished RF hardware engineer to support the architecture, design and manufacturing of land/sea/airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) products. This is a leadership level role with the ability to influence strategic direction of RF technology, develop roadmaps, and have a strong impact on day-to-day execution.  

Essential Functions:  
•    Work closely with system engineering to understand customer requirements
•    Develop architectures for next generation RF subsystems for EW applications
•    Decompose subsystem requirements into subassembly level functional and performance specifications 
•    RF & Microwave (VHF through Ku or higher) design synthesis at the board and subsystem level Schedule, cost, and technical oversight at the board or subsystem level 
•    Develop and execute plans to evaluate and down select components
•    Lead investigations into performance anomalies and other non-conformances
•    Provide oversight of subcontracted components essential to the operation of RF subsystems
•    Prepare and present engineering design concepts and data results at internal and customer facing reviews
•    Lead or participate in peer reviews, preliminary design reviews, critical design reviews and other required design reviews as a subject matter expert
•    Lead or participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews
•    Mastery of key RF parameters (bandwidth, stability, gain compression, intermodulation distortion, noise figure, harmonics, spurious emissions, etc.)
•    Legacy of successful designs through at least Ku band frequencies

Qualifications:
•    B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field and 12 years of related experience OR M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field and 10 years of related experience
•    DOD SECRET security clearance or higher
•    Minimum ten years of experience simulating microwave circuits using Keysight ADS or similar tools for linear and non-linear analyses
•    Minimum ten years of experience designing ruggedized mil-aero qualified hardware
•    Minimum five years of architecting frequency synthesizer and circuit topologies
 

Preferred Additional Skills: 
•    Experience developing highly agile frequency synthesizer designs
•    Exposure to both PCB and chip/wire circuit construction
•    Understanding of Electronic Warfare systems and theory of operation
•    Experience with Ansys HFSS or similar for full 3D EM analysis
•    Exposure to low-medium volume (10s to 100s unit per year) production environments
•    Experience leading complex root cause/corrective action analyses
•    Ability to oversee troubleshooting of RF/microwave subassemblies to the component level
•    Ability to oversee the development and execution of design verification test procedures
•    Experience with following hardware design processes and generating required documentation

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $150,000-$278,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
