Job Description:
The Plant Facilities Manager is responsible for the tactical management and operational oversight of facility management services across our Clifton, NJ site. This role involves ensuring that all facilities are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards while aligning with the organization's goals. The Manager will lead a team of facilities team members, oversee maintenance, space management, capital projects, and coordinate with vendors and contractors to maintain optimal facility conditions.
Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership for the Facilities in terms of both Tactical Management as one accountable leader to coordinate with other responsible parties across the site.
- Lead and mentor team members, providing direction on daily operations, preventive maintenance, and long-term planning in alignment with the organization's growth and operational goals.
- Develop and manage Clifton’s facilities budget to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Oversee the operations and maintenance of facilities across Clifton, NJ, ensuring the site is fully functional and adheres to safety and compliance standards.
- Oversee the effective utilization of space within facilities, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and growth strategies.
- Coordinate large-scale repairs, upgrades, and renovations, working closely with contractors and external vendors.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements across the site, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and emergency systems.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring preparedness for incidents like power outages, water main breaks, or natural disasters.
- Act as a liaison between the company and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with internal team memebers and third-party vendors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and construction projects.
- Implement sustainable and energy-efficient initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure operational efficiency and improve performance.
- Ensure strong communication with all stakeholders.
- Assist and support the team with identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities by applying e3 principles and tools.
- Conduct external industry benchmarking, evaluate and implement solutions through active change management.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 4+ years managing on-site facilities staff, supporting contractors and service providers.
- Comprehensive knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline and may have broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
- Mechanical equipment and HVAC systems. Motor control centers & variable frequency drives, pneumatic/clean dry air compressors, chillers, boilers, dehumidifiers, etc. Facility automation (building management system).
- Electrical systems including 480V switchgear and electrical distribution to major facility systems, diesel generators, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
- Security systems, including facility alarms and access controls.
- Elevators, sewage and water distribution systems, facility infrastructure including roofs and large doors (internal and external).]
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $108,000 - $201,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
