Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Program Quality Engineering to lead our program quality engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, process improvement, cost account management and team leadership. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of quality engineering strategies, managing the program quality engineering team, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage the Program Quality Engineering team to ensure that programs receive the highest level of Quality support to execute on-time and to contract compliance.
- Develop and implement quality engineering strategies and processes to drive quality improvements through our internal ZDP approach and ensure compliance with industry standards (AS9100).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to integrate quality engineering practices throughout the product lifecycle.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of quality documentation, such as quality manuals, procedures, and reports.
- Review and support the team in quality assurance portion of proposal, RFPs and/or Basis of Estimate (BOE).
- Utilize advanced quality tools and techniques FMEA, Root Cause Analysis and Statistical Process Control to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage, guide and assist in the resolution of complex quality issues and root cause investigations.
- Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is effectively implemented and maintained.
- Mentor and develop the Program Quality Engineering team, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
- Drive the adoption of automation and digitalization initiatives within the quality function.
- Lead the preparation and participation in internal and external quality audits.
- Monitor and report on quality metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and regulations in quality engineering and adjust practices accordingly.
Qualifications: (refer to Career Framework)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field and a minimum of 9 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Master's degree, and a minimum of 7 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role is preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949.
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving significant quality improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient with quality engineering software and tools.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or Six Sigma Black Belt are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Basis of Estimate (BOE)
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $114,000.00 - $212,000.00.
