Position Overview:

L3Harris is seeking a first shift Environmental Test Engineer to assist in running the operation of the Clifton Environmental Test facility. Candidate will be responsible for the completion of production Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) (Temperature, Vibration, Thermal Shock, Thermal Cycle) of all products produced in the Electronic Warfare sector. Test operations are conducted 24/7. Hands-on skills are required along with a good understanding of electronic circuits. Previous experience is a major plus, in addition to overall instrumentation experience.  We may consider engineers for work on other shifts as well.

Essential Functions:

• Perform Environmental Testing- Temperature, Vibration, Thermal Shock, Thermal Cycle – of all products.
• Set up equipment, run, and monitor environmental tests.
• Report and communicate information related to tests.
• Participate in department activities, such as Shop Meetings, processing of paperwork, communication, and tracking of issue resolution.
• Communicate with department team members regarding status and next actions.
• Understanding of and ability to follow test procedures and traveler sequences appropriately.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision upon completion of onboarding and training.
• Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Laboratory hands-on experience a plus.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• US DoD Secret security clearance or equivalent

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $76,500 - $141,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
