Job Description:
As a Supplier Quality Technician at L3Harris, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and materials received meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance to protect the customer. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can consistently apply objective criteria to the inspection process and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and processes.
Essential Functions:
- Perform detailed inspections ensuring that the product received from the supplier meets specifications and is compliant with purchase orders, engineering drawings, acceptance testing, and contractual requirements.
- Utilize measurement tools and math/statistical skills to complete FAIs (First Article Inspections), both visual and physical, per requirements.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing rework and waste; inputting data into the quality database(s).
- Identify non-conformities and escalate to Quality Engineering support staff as needed.
- Review, analyze, and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, and/or electrical systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, operations, and the suppliers to drive quality performance, mitigate risk, and ensure product compliance.
- Continuously improve supplier quality assurance and incoming inspection by way of creative thinking geared towards enhancements via planning, tools, processes, qualifications, measurement system analysis (e.g. Gage R&R), capability studies, and management of supplied components.
- Support Zero Defect culture by assisting in the development of robust processes, performing process/product validations, and recommending internal and external improvements.
- Share best practices and lessons learned associated with quality, OTD, and inspection.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform additional responsibilities related to supplier quality and cross-functional support as assigned by the manager to meet departmental and organizational goals and objectives.

- Effective problem-solving and investigation experience.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to effectively evaluate supplier data along with internal metrics to help define go-forward plans and take action accordingly.

- Ability to stand, sit, move, squat, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to comply with ITAR regulations as applicable.
- Travel <10%.
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in mechanical and/or electronic products (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, or Medical).
- Experience in applying GD&T principles to read and interpret drawings and technical documents.
- Knowledge and experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools/techniques and implementing sustainable corrective action.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Working knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management System Standard and AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
- Professional certification (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ CQE, CSQP, or SQE).
- Minitab experience.
