Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Explosive Control Coordinator to oversee and manage all aspects of explosive materials storage, internal transportation, and handling within our organization. Manages the processing of material from Ready for Stores status and return material to ensure they are physically and electronically moved in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) database to a valid warehouse location. In addition, manage the explosives issued to each explosives container on the site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to coordinate multiple internal functional disciplines.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure proper control of explosives, including records, storage, compatibility load limits, and scrap accountability in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE), and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, handling, transportation, and disposal of explosive materials in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of explosive materials storage facilities, equipment, and processes to identify and address potential hazards, deficiencies, or non-compliance issues.
- Controls the allocation and coordinates the release of energetics based on the production schedule and engineering requirements. In addition, maintains available explosive storage locations and forecasts future usage of the explosive storage for the entire site.
- Maintain accurate records of explosive materials inventory, usage, and disposal activities, and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and external partners to ensure timely and accurate reporting of explosive materials inventories regulatory compliance documentation
- Provide support and information to the Explosives Safety Officer and other relevant personnel in response to investigations of explosive incidents, accidents, inventory discrepancies, and near misses, as needed.
8. Proficient in MS Office applications Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
9. Perform a variety of transactions such as issues, moves, scrap, and adjustments in WMS system to ensure overall inventory accuracy.
10. Perform tasks using a ladder with possible heights up to 10ft.
11. Capable of bending, twisting, and lifting 25lbs.
12. Occasional overtime
Qualifications:
· Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
· Must be able to qualify as an ATF Responsible Person.
· Must be able to learn the WMS system (Costpoint/Cognos) and process transactions electronically and physically to ensure overall inventory accuracy.
· Must be able to successfully complete (Power Industrial Truck) PIT training and qualify on the equipment (WAVE/Forklift) within 45 days of on-the-job training.
· Must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Strong accurate counting ability with a desire to manage and account for material.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, employees, and external partners.
· Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement in explosive materials management practices.
· Prior warehousing or shipping/receiving experience.
· Background in industrial manufacturing or military settings.
