Job Description:
Responsible for performing inspections, tests, analyses and/or audits of highly complex products to include microelectronics, precision mechanical, PWB components, and assemblies to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements. Inspection may include energetic components and assemblies. Approves conformance to outlined Inspection procedures, responsible for ensuring safety, reliability and hardware traceability for end-item systems and mission solutions through quality inspection oversight. Collaborates with quality engineers in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans. Routinely supports and interfaces with the Program Quality teams.
Essential Functions:
- Through proficient use of measurement gages and inspection techniques, sets-up and performs inspections of components and assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards. As necessary, performs inspections and completes inspection documentation per Quality requirements. .
- Review technical drawings and key product characteristics, use sampling plans and detailed Inspection plans (DIP's), to verify inspection and processes for both component and assembly verification.
- Responsible for the use of appropriate quality inspection techniques to identify potential product quality concerns and works side by side with all relative departments to assure product quality and integrity.
- Prepare required documentation for quality assurance requirements.
- Interface with and other support teams for product testing, and/or special inspection or test requirements.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and gaging is desired.
- Experience in J-STD and solder inspection and requirements.
- Knowledge and use of advanced inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of Mil-spec and AS9100 requirements.
