Job Description:
L3Harris Fuzing & Ordnance Systems is in search of an Engineering Technician who will work with a multi-disciplinary team to collaboratively design, manufacture, and test electronic and electro-mechanical devices that support war fighters for the USA and our allies. The successful candidate will use manual and automated test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal test generators, power supplies, counters, etc.) and troubleshoot electronic circuitry to the component level. Knowledge of computerized test equipment, including hands-on experience is preferred.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up test equipment and perform electronic testing, both manual and automated, in a production environment.
- Perform electronic troubleshooting and fault isolation.
- Record test data, maintain test data file system, shop routing documentation and accept/reject data for production & engineering assemblies.
- Assist technicians and engineers in performing Root Cause and Failure Analysis.
- Calibrate electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards.
- Correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components.
- Assist Engineering in establishing operating standards for test systems including detailed test plans and work instructions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be eligible to qualify for and obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
- 0-3 years relevant work experience related to testing, troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits and electronic components, and use of manual and automated test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal test generators, power supplies, counters, etc.).
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related discipline or equivalent formal Electronics Technician training.
- Working knowledge (formal training and practical experience) reading, interpreting, and using engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, specification documents, and electronic schematics to perform work.
- Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance or higher.
- Experience using spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and other RF test equipment.
- IPC Solder Certification.
- Experience working in the Defense Industry.
- Experience working in Electronics Manufacturing.
