As our business continues to grow, we are looking to add an Electrical Engineering Co-op to our Special Test Equipment Development Engineering Group.
As a member of the FOS team, your primary focus would be the development of Specialized Test Equipment used to test product through all phases of design and production. You would also assist with presenting designs to internal and external customers for review, and addressing technical issues. A solid understanding of circuit theory, components, firmware, software and troubleshooting skills will be developed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focus on the design and development of specialized systems and special test equipment for electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical products.
- Extensive analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, data acquisition, filtering/conditioning, printed circuit design, measurement error analysis, and future system-level engineering.
- Utilization of CAE tools such as Altium and SPICE, and laboratory equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc. used to perform circuit design, verification and troubleshooting.
- Working with or creating embedded firmware to control hardware. Working with various serial communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-422, SPI, I2C, etc.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering or related field
Preferred Skills:
- Some understanding of basic analog building blocks including differential amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, and data converters
- Novice with basic digital building blocks including logic gates, flip flops, timers, and filters
- Little to no experience with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, etc.)
- Little to no experience with modeling and simulation utilities (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)
- Novice in creating Technical Documentation (Engineering Drawings, Calibration Procedures, Validation Procedures, Operating Instructions, etc.)
- Novice in writing code in C language.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Currently pursuing a BSEE, BSCompE or BSEET degree + GPA > 3.0
