Job Description:

Responsible for performing a wide variety of assembly operations which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to read and understand description of manufacture (DM, DOM) for operation assembly instruction.
• Ability to handle small parts with tweezers and/ or special tools Operate various types of assembly equipment (assembly machines, press stakers, air screw drivers, etc.) with proper training.
• Inspect and observe components and subassemblies for obvious defects prior to, during, and after assembled. 
• Check completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards and DMs. 
• Maintain assembly/ quality records paperwork as required. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience with various types of precision measurement tools (micrometers, go/no-go gauges, etc.) and blueprint reading.
• Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment.
• Familiar with reading blueprints/drawings and part lists.
