Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to work with manufacturing operations at our ARDE Facility located in Carlstadt NJ.  ARDE designs and manufactures pressure vessels (tanks) for Aerospace applications. This is a dynamic environment that requires motivated, self-starting individuals with hands-on experience. Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for manufacturing activities including tooling design and process development. They must be able to follow company procedures and requirements for the manufacture of advanced, man-rated, and high value aerospace hardware.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for the fabrication of pressure vessels. Create detailed work instructions, procedures that meet design, process, quality, safety, and environmental requirements. Provide shop floor support of manufacturing processes and vendor support as required.
  • Design and implement tooling and fixtures to support efficient manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
  • Provide technical guidance and/or training to the shop floor. Review engineering drawings for manufacturability. Interface with all the related support groups for processes to ensure accuracy, control and safety of the personnel and quality of the hardware.
  • Perform investigations of nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Manual and CNC Machining, Welding, Assembly, Metal Cleaning, Familiar with NDT and dimensional measurement techniques, Creation of Process drawings.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Microsoft Office, with high competence with Excel desirable.
  • Knowledge of AS9100D
  • Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing review.
  • Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Precision assembly of aerospace hardware.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma principles.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of New Jersey is $96,000 - $178,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
