Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager & Director of Program Management to join the ARDE Inc. Carlstadt, NJ site, which is a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies’ Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment.
ARDE is a leader in designing and manufacturing high-pressure Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels and Propellant Tanks, with expertise in structural/dynamics analysis, fracture mechanics, and Material and Process Engineering, serving both domestic and international customers.
This leadership role is crucial for setting the strategic direction and managing the growth and P&L for the ARDE site; which involves managing customer relationships, day to day business operations and multi-year production contracts. The role involves influencing senior leadership on new concepts and practices, recommending and implementing strategies, and developing operational plans to achieve short-to-long-term business goals. Additionally, the Director will build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, industry partners, and foster connections with emerging commercial space start-ups. Advanced management and leadership skills, broad business knowledge, strong financial acumen, and extensive experience across related disciplines are required.
Essential Functions:
- Manage P&L, accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the ARDE site portfolio; to include site infrastructure, major defense procurements (FAR 15) and commercial bids
- Lead and oversee the Program Management function of the business and adjusts strategic direction and processes to achieve year-over-year growth.
- Drive program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR and EAR regulations, working with export officials.
- Drive organizational objectives: financial performance, on-time delivery, quality management, and safety.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the site; with the ability to establish a culture of trust, open communication, data driven decision making, customer focus and relentless continuous improvement.
- Champion and lead communication and employee engagement activities.
- Define and execute staffing and capital plans for current and future programs.
- Collaborate with Senior Staff on Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to reduce costs and lead times.
- Promote EH&S excellence and safety culture.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to direct report managers.
- Lead Business Resilience Team to ensure operational continuity during events.
- Oversee IR&D efforts to align research spending with future market needs.
- Up to 20% business travel to L3Harris, customer and supplier sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related Aerospace & Defense experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related Aerospace & Defense experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related Aerospace & Defense experience.
- 5+ years’ experience directly owning program(s) P&L and growth.
- 5+ years people leadership experience.
- Active US Secret Security Clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $18-,500.00-$335,000.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $157,000.00-$291,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
