Job Description:

The Sr. Specialist, Software Systems/Security engineer is primarily responsible for the design and development of software test for a variety of embedded high-assurance software applications. An Active Secret Security Clearance is required.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for research, design, and development of computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development.
  • Participates in all phases of the development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
  • Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles.
  • Works closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.
  • Develops test procedures, programs, and related documentation.
  • Contributes to determining, estimating, and validating the cost and scope of efforts to ensure product meets program cost, schedule, and technical constraints. 
  • Be a part of an agile multidisciplinary development team

 

The sucessful candidate will have he following background:

  • Embedded systems software engineering
  • Embedded or applications developer
  • System infrastructure development; scripting, automation, data visualization & dashboarding

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience using C or C++ in embedded products
  • Previous experience with Object Oriented Programming
  • Ability to pick up new software, frameworks and APIs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent software design, problem solving, and debugging skills
  • Experience with or desire to learn Linux
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Previous experience using python
  • Experience with developing software monitoring and embedded software
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Perforce), development tools (Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc.), and agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals is a plus
  • Security Clearance - Secret or Top Secret

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $102,000 - $190,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
