Position Overview:

 

We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer Senior Associate to design, develop, and qualify mechanical systems within a collaborative team environment.

Your day-to-day work will center on 3D modeling, hardware deisgn documentation, analysis, integration and testing, while operating within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Assist in the development, integration, and operational support of modules and electronics for the Aerospace and/or Defense industries
  • Mechanical design in 3D CAD
  • Develop design documentation that includes drawings, specifications and data items that meet customer and military specifications
  • Prototype, Integrate, and Test component parts and assemblies
  • Assist with and generate report of stress, thermal, shock and vibration analysis using FEA software (ANSYS, etc.)
  • Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems
  • Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems
  • Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and quality engineering to ensure hardware is producible and inspectable.
  • Adhere to company processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (typically less than 30 days per year)

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience in the design, development, and/or production of mechanical systems for the Aerospace and/or Defense industries.
  • Experience with analysis
  • Understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with CAD tools and PLM systems.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and access to U.S. Government/customer facilities.

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $76,000 - $141,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
