Job Description: 

L3Harris is seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead cross-functional teams in the management of one or more product lines in the NextGen Tactical Datalinks (Link 16) business area.  The Product Manager is responsible for managing the cost and schedule requirements of a product line offering through all phases from proposal to distribution. Analyzes and designs technical product enhancements, integrating the work of research and development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and service functions for all or part of a new or potential product offerings. Provides strategic technical consultation to field personnel and customers during the early life cycle of new product offerings. Provides product consultation to research and development in the design stage of product offerings. May plan, prepare, and present product introduction strategies. May participate in the marketing, forecasting and financial aspects of the product offering. Manages offering through each phase of the checkpoint process.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • The Product Manager is responsible for all aspects for their assigned products, to include: product lifecycle management, variant management, product positioning, new feature development, production planning, and field  performance. Specific functions to be performed under limited supervision include:
  • Leads and directs work of cross-functional teams comprised of skilled professionals in production, finance, engineering, quality, and configuration management disciplines
  • Interfaces with customers to understand the Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Use Cases, overall customer requirements, and market demands to manage product roadmaps
  • Provide leadership of the core product team to establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, validation, manufacturing, integration and test activities
  • Partner with the Internal Research and Development (IRAD) team to develop new features and products (new product introduction and launch)
  • Represent the voice of the customer within the organization
  • Create roadmaps, market landscapes, and competitive intelligence analysis
  • Determine value-based product pricing based on market and competitive environment
  • Promote products through creation of marketing material, launch plans, and various other sales tools to support internal and external customers
  • Resolve internal performance issues arising from engineering design or operations production
  • Manage budgets for product improvements and defect resolutions
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company policies and procedures.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or 14 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Link 16 Tactical Datalinks and products.
  • Experience managing programs using EVMS principles.
  • Experience managing cross-functional product-based programs for the Government, DoD Primes, and International Customers.
  • Experience with multiple phases of the program capture & execution lifecycle (Bid & Proposal, Development, Production, Sustainment).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $122,000 - $227,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
