Job Description:
Lay out, mock-up, fabricate and install tubing systems on production similar products. Incorporate engineering changes and fabricate tube assemblies for welding and production needs. Set up and operate computerized tube data center to develop tube configuration, tube bend data and bending sequences.
Essential Functions:
- Read and interpret information from planning documents, drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications and engineering orders to determine methods and sequence of operations required for utilization of computerized tube digitizing equipment, computer terminals and peripherals to determine tube configuration, tube bend data, sequencing data and recording dimensional data.
- Operate tube data center utilizing master configuration, available computer programs and tube data file
- Perform mathematical calculations, using shop math, decimals, fractions, geometry and trigonometry to compute changes and modify data for use in bending tubes.
- Use precision measuring instruments and equipment check tube configuration against master tube and make corrections as required.
- Layout tube routings or contours for experimental and prototype aircraft or other similar products.
- Set up and operate various types of tube bending machines.
- Mockup tube routings – Manual custom fit-ups as required
- Flaring components for press fit assemblies
- Fabricate tubes for production use employing hand and power tools.
- Record and store tube bend and other manufacturing data and statistics manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years of experience in metal fabrication bending tubes on CNC tube bending machines.
- 3 years of experience using vector machines to verify tube angles and tube end points.
- 1 year experience working in and around welding operations.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience bending tubes by hand to meet Torch Weld Jig requirements.
- Experience making minor tube bend manual adjustments is required.
- Experience cleaning and prepping tubes, flanges and fittings prior to weld is required.
- Experience using in place lathes for tube squaring and tube flaring.
- Experience mocking tubes up to an engine assemblies and making tube routing adjustments.
- Experience working around pneumatic equipment and thorough understanding of safety concerns and safeguards.
- Must have a proven safety record and experience with PPE.
- Experience reading, comprehending and using planning and drawings to meet required specification requirements.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $31.81/hr - $55.01/hr.
