Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Component Engineer specializing in electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts to join the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with space-grade EEE parts and instrumentation used in high reliability applications. The candidate will play a key role within the Electronics organization supporting new and existing space and defense programs. This role requires the ability to provide leadership in the areas of EEE parts and instrumentation; supporting part selection guidance and failure analysis as required. The role is based in Los Angeles, CA at our Canoga Park site.
Essential Functions:
- 
Manage customer flow down requirements and navigate industry and military standards/specifications to ensure requirement compliance. 
- 
Develop detailed specifications for custom parts/instrumentation which meet the demands of our high reliability applications. 
- 
Provide technical leadership to our suppliers by communicating requirements and resolving issues as they arise. 
- 
Leverage industry standard failure investigation processes to find root cause of failure; then recommend corrective and preventative actions to eliminate reoccurrence. 
- 
Provide EEE part selection guidance to our design team. 
- Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.
- Up to 10% business travel to supplier locations.
Qualifications:
- 
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant EEE experience OR Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of relevant EEE experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of relevant EEE experience. 
- 2+ years experience interfacing with suppliers on EEE parts.
- 2+ years experience developing specifications for EEE parts.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 
Experience evaluating EEE parts for radiation requirement compliance by leveraging existing test data, radiation analysis, and/or radiation lot acceptance test. 
- 
Experience working with instrumentation suppliers to develop custom sensor devices (i.e. temperature sensors, linear variable differential transformers, pressure transducers, etc). 
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $104,500.00-$193,500.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $90,500.00-$168,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
