Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Quality Engineer to join its Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment’s Space Propulsion & Power Systems Sector in Canoga Park, CA. This site is our center of excellence for liquid in-space propulsion, responsible for engine design, fabrication, assembly, and test. This individual will report to the Supplier Quality Manager and provide Quality Engineering support for various projects spanning both Missiles and Space Sectors.
Acting as a central point of communication, ensuring that all team members are aligned with project goals, timelines, and budgets; the Sr Specialist, Quality Engineer will ensure that AR has a process for and can provide technical manufacturing, operational and technical Quality Engineering support to our suppliers.
Essential Functions:

Key Initiative Support
Establish a Segment Wide process to incorporate Manufacturing assessments of new suppliers and/or critical procurements. Lead from the front and be capable of providing expertise in various manufacturing processes while setting up the process.

Supplier Manufacturing Support
Leverage direct manufacturing experience to develop suppliers and ensure new and existing suppliers are capable of meeting contract requirements. Support the new supplier selection process, providing technical input and expertise.

Other COE Supplier Manufacturing Support
Interface with adjacent Centers of Excellence to ensure the technical resources exist and are available to support the supply base. This includes all technical support such as Manufacturing, Scheduling and Quality.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related Quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Direct Manufacturing and Operational experience in one or more of the following areas: Machining, Composites, Valves, Special Processes, Finishing, etc.
- Project management experience.
- CQE, PMP and other certifications preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a close-knit team environment; highly motivated team player.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situations.
- High Attention to Detail
- Ability to work self-reliantly
- Must consistently meet deadline commitments.
- Travel ~50% domestically
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $94,000 - $175,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
