Job Description:

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Structures Engineer. This role will be located out of our Missile Solutions segment supporting the Propulsion Systems sector in Canoga Park, CA. In this role, you will support missile defense programs and/or the RS-25 rocket engine program and perform component structural analysis in support of flight, test and fabrication.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Provide structural design guidance, scope analysis efforts and perform detailed structural analyses for missile defense programs and/or the RS-25 rocket engine program. Provide assessment of the product’s ability to satisfy internal structural requirements as well as those flowed by the customer.
  • Report status and results of analysis tasks at design and program reviews. Prepare detailed technical reports documenting all analysis activities, present results at program reviews, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Apply technical expertise to directly contribute to the performance of the team relative to design/development efforts and in dispositioning of production NCRs.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities in a manner that has significant impact on programs improving overall performance and capabilities.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret level security clearance.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related structural engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related structural engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related structural engineering experience.  

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Mechanical, Structures, or Aerospace Engineering
  • High proficiency in utilization of ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software
  • Experience with structural analysis of missile defense and/or liquid rocket propulsion systems and components such as nozzles, ducts, valves, flanges or combustion elements is a plus.
  • Active clearance preferred.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $102,000 - $189,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
