Job Description:

 

We are seeking a Senior Specialist Material Program Manager for our Los Angeles / Canoga Park Office. 

Under general supervision, the Senior Specialist will lead Supply Chain Materiel Management and cross functional teams to manage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) activities and provide leadership in establishing a procurement strategy in support of the Orion Jettison Motor Program. Responsible for effectively leading the functional organization’s strategies to balance supply and demand of a complex Bill of Material (BOM). Potential to support multiple programs simultaneously. Responsible for effectively identifying and working cross-functionally to resolve both ERP and supplier delivery issues that could impact program delivery schedules and financial needs of both the customer / enterprise. Assist with the indoctrination of the Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Operating System that is Data-Driven, Process-Oriented, and Customer-Focused.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Develop and maintain a detailed time-phased material acquisition plan and consistently monitor plan against production schedule needs. Coordinate and drive release of demand in accordance with MRP recommendations. Develop time-phased material sales forecasts based on BOM and key reports (i.e. Purchase Order reports, Requisition Reports, Planned Order reports) to support weekly / monthly enterprise sales reporting. Monitor functional progress against established schedules and forecasts utilizing MRP methodologies and strategies. Consistently and proactively analyze BOM, Line of Balance, and MRP system data to strategically resolve supplier and internal issues that could impact demand satisfaction.
  • Establish and drive the implementation of a procurement strategy that is based on data from the ERP / Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems. Effectively present and communicate the procurement strategy progress cross-functionally and to the Program Office, highlighting issue / resolution of both supplier and internal constraints that could impact demand satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and maintain material acquisition and fabrication status with other functional departments and sites. Coordinate the flow of work between and within departments to support demand / program schedules.
  • Develop labor and BOM budgets to support proposal activity. Manage and monitor performance against budget utilizing an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and support Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities (as needed).
  • Ability to obtain a US Security clearance

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Supply Chain Management (SCM) experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior SCM experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior SCM experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Robust data analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to craft and develop procurement strategies and material acquisition plans
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills to coordinate materials / hardware requirements with multiple departments.
  • Advanced to expert computer skills are required (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), particularly advanced use of MS Excel (i.e. pivot tables, Vlookups)
  • Must have experience with automated ERP / MRP systems (Oracle preferred) and understand the overall SCMM (Supply Chain / Materiel Management) role in the MRP process
  • Understanding and experience of Earned Value Management specifically Cost Account Management (CAM) and Estimates at Completion (EAC)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, particularly aerospace
  • Familiarity with aerospace rocket engine program materials and manufacturing processes
  • General knowledge of supply chain / procurement procedures, writing and audit methods
  • General knowledge of Line of Balance
  • Familiarity with generating compliant government proposals 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $84,000 - $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
