Job Description:

 

The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a RocketWorks Space Nuclear Propulsion, IRAD Program Manager to join our Canoga Park, CA office.  The position encompasses the management of L3Harris/Aerojet Rocketdyne Space Nuclear Propulsion (SNP) activities including Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP), Nuclear Electric Propulsion (NEP) and their intersections with Fission Surface Power (FSP). It also includes responsibility for coordination of miscellaneous other NASA, DoD and commercial new business activities (like the Moon to Mars Initiative), and oversight of the RocketWorks DS portfolio, The person selected will also have the opportunity to work and manage frequent small mission and/or technology studies, RFI responses and proposals.

 

Essential Functions: 

 

  • Integrate and coordinate NASA, DOD and Commercial initiatives into RocketWorks activities.

  • Manage mission and/or technology studies and RFPs/RFIs including leading and managing proposal efforts as required.

  • Coordinate and support Business Development activities to help bring new opportunities and growth into the RocketWorks business area.

  • Define, acquire approval for and manage the RocketWorks DS funding portfolio.

  • Coordinate the Rocket Works activities to help identify and define topics for papers to be presented at conferences. Shepard the writing and submitting of those papers by member of the RocketWorks and the greater AR Team. The purpose of these effort is to maintain AR’s name and reputation as a propulsion expert in the Aerospace Industry.

  • Up to 20% business travel to customers and suppliers to support program objectives.

  • Ability to obtain a US Secuirty Clearence.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant program management experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related program management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related program management experience.

  • 5+ years experience in the Aerospace Industry as a Propusion Program Manager, CAM or Project Engineer.

  • 5+ years experience using EVMS to manage programs.  

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Direct knowledge and experience in liquid rocket engine systems and hardware.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical and programmatic teams.

  • Understanding of L3Harris & Aerojet Rocketdyne program processes and procedures.

  • Familiarity with and knowledge of the NASA, DOD, Industry Organizations that do business with L3Harris & Aerojet Rocketdyne.

  • Familiarity/experience with mission architecture analysis.

  • Proficient in the use of all the basic MS Office tools and therefore be proficient in computer operating systems, MS Outlook, MS Excel (entering formulas, graphing, developing spreadsheets), MS PowerPoint (presentations, storyboard development, logic diagrams), MS Visio (business diagrams and sketches), and MS Word (tables, program plans).

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $150,000.00-$278,000.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $130,500.00-$242,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
