Job Schedule: 2nd Shift (train on 1st Shift) 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

 

Job Description:

Visually and dimensionally inspect materials, tooling, sheet metal parts, assemblies, extrusions and forgings during and after chemical milling operations, painting, plating, heat treating, anodizing, etching, processing, cleaning, and metal bonding.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect painting of assemblies for prior application of prime and finish coats, lettering and markings.
  • Check coating density of adhesive paint to exacting tolerances.
  • Inspect panels and parts with silk screen lettering and markings.
  • Check correct locations of decals.
  • Inspect uniformity and thickness of cadmium and chromium plating and electro deposition using precision measuring instruments and/or the drop acid method.
  • Inspect long term immersion sequences where part rotation, baffle tooling and sequence timing of movement between processes must be closely controlled.
  • Check temperatures and density of processing mixtures and solutions.  Report when processing solutions require attention.
  • Stamp or otherwise approve acceptable work.
  • Make out rejection slips as required.
  • Must have fundamental computer skills.
  • Must meet the minimum vision test requirement for an inspector
  • Ability to and willingness to obtain US Security Clearance

 

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 1 year inspection experience or demonstrated on-the-job knowledge of inspection operations.
  • 1 year of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
    • Acceptance / rejection criteria
    • Reporting non-conforming conditions
  • Knowledge of:
    • Test methods (litmus test for PH, visual inspection, water break, etc.).
    • Surface treatments (etch, passivation, plating, DFL, insulation, etc.).
  • Experience in the following:
    • Working in clean room and environmentally controlled work areas.
    • Handling sample specimens and basic laboratory equipment (glassware, etc.
    • Using visual inspection aids (mirrors, borescopes, and magnifying glass).
    • Reading temperature, pressure, relative humidity, dew point, air flow gages.
    • Using inspection gauges and instrumentation.
      • Graduated scales, calipers, and micrometers,
      • Surface finish comparators (including circular).
      • Rockwell hardness tester.
    • Using graduated scale microscope for particle count evaluation.
    • Using material handling devices for moving large items.
    • Handling and packaging precision cleaned hardware.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $31.63/hr - $52.87/hr.
