Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is currently seeking an experienced Facilities Electrical Engineer for our Space Propulsion and Power Systems facility in Canoga Park, CA. This position will provide Electrical Engineering to support Construction, Equipment Installation Projects, as well as Equipment & Infrastructure Maintenance Technical Support; and manage Facilities Capital Projects for Electrical and/or Manufacturing & Process equipment installations. These include Engineering and Design for the installation and modifications of Manufacturing, Process and Lab equipment, Office Areas, HVAC & Control systems, Electrical distribution, Emergency Power and Green Energy systems, Alarms, Public Address.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and support Facilities Projects in the development of Electrical Engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates for Equipment Acquisitions, Facility renovations, and Construction projects.
- Interface with A&E firms and Construction Contractors.
- Review and approve construction documents and contractor submittals.
- Maintain as-built drawings and records.
- Interpret and apply codes.
- Support Maintenance staff in trouble shooting and technical issues as required and make recommendations for planned system refurbishment or replacement.
- Manage facilities projects: including internal customer interface, external contractor interface, leading Project Teams, developing project scope, schedule, cost, generating and reviewing/approving work authorizations and invoices for payment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related electrical engineering experience.

- Strong skills in teamwork and the ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, customer personnel, outside agencies, Contractors and others in a dynamic changing environment.
- Ability to support several projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable of NEC and other applicable Electrical Building codes
- Knowledgeable of applicable industry standards (UL, Title 24, Lighting Standards, etc)
- Ability to work in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps), as well as a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Proficient in AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, & MS Project
- California State Licensed Professional Engineer – Electrical Engineering
- Arc-flash power systems studies highly desirable
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $68,000- $126,000. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $77,500- $144,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
