Job Description:
L3Harris – Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an electronic equipment calibration technician at the Canoga Park Facility in California which produces propulsion systems and components for NASA, Military and Commercial contracts.
This position is responsible for calibrating, evaluating, modifying and certifying electronic indicating, measuring and recording devices and standards in the lab and factory, and is a part of a Metrology team. Metrology calibrates instruments that support production processes on site. Calibration responsibilities are supported by company standard work and procedures. The technician team are accountable to a salaried Metrology engineer and a department manager.
Essential Functions:
- Read and interpret information from planning documents, drawings, manuals, blueprints, sketches, specifications, job and engineering orders to plan the methods and sequence of operations required to construct, modify and calibrate electrical and electronic standards and/or related equipment.
- Setup and operate precision measuring instruments and a variety of electronic test equipment.
- Calibrate, service modify, repair and maintain electrical/electronic reference, transfer and working standards and related equipment used for establishing the accuracy of various types of working, reference and transfer standards.
- Locate, diagnose and correct malfunctions found in equipment and standards that fail to respond to established corrective measures and adjustments.

- Develop and furnish circuit diagrams, breadboard layouts, sketches and similar technical drawings to construct/modify special electrical/electronic standards used for calibration
- Evaluate new or modified electronic standards and related equipment used for calibration or measurement purposes.
- Coordinate and solve problems associated with standards and related equipment with customers and responsible personnel.
- Record data and statistics associated with calibration and measurement problems manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system.
- Willingness to secure, and capability to pass a “Secret” clearance background check, if required to support business.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Requires a minimum of 3 years direct experience with calibration of electronics and electrical equipment.
- Formal Calibration Training or a course certification.
Preferred Additional Skils:
- Associates degree from a junior college or technical school
- Experience with dimensioning and tolerancing systems (GD&T).
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $33.44/hr - $55.88/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
