Job Description:
We are seeking a Logistics Associate Manager at our Canoga Park, CA facility. This role oversees the daily operations of the Logistics department, which include shipping, receiving, warehousing, and company material transportation.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate, monitor and provide oversight of Logistics workforce to ensure that work operations are executed on a daily basis. Actively assist and provide direction in support of material control processes including:
- Conducting continuous cycle and periodic physical inventory of all stock on-hand.
- Ensuring proper identification of all stock, handling requirements and special storage requirements in keeping with security and safety directives and government laws and regulations.
- Controlling release of materials and/or tools and equipment, including the issuing of proper documentation.
- Maintaining continuous safety surveillance and instructs and investigates safety issues or incidents.
- Coordinating with operating production or engineering personnel to resolve problems, expedite deliveries of tools, materials, supplies, and to determine priorities.
- Onboarding of new hires to ensure proper indoctrination into process, procedure and program specific requirements.
- Ensuring inventory accuracy levels remain at about 95% minimum MMAS standard.
- Participating in internal, external and customer audits.
- Support Enterprise Logistics organization initiatives, projects and process improvements as directed by management. Travel to other AR logistics sites may be required on a limited basis. Activities include but are not limited to:
- Participating in 3P, VSM, Visual Management projects.
- Participating in Program transfers, warehouse consolidation efforts.
- Standardizing processes and command media.
- Providing back-up management support to other facilities as necessary.
- Plan and coordinate the in-process warehouse activity to prepare and deliver the required quantities of material to their point of use as requested. Attend site and program production meetings to ensure Operations and site requirements are achieved as directed.
- Manage all pertinent Federal, state and local regulations, codes and guidelines as they relate to assigned activities. Comply with all DOT, safety, storage, industrial hygiene, Hazardous Material and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and requirements for assigned activities.
- Prepare and maintain metrics, records and reports covering the acceptance of materials, parts and equipment from suppliers, including the identification and verification of supplier data.
- Prepare reports and maintain metrics regarding the unit's activities including work in process, activities completed, machine and material utilization and overall productivity/performance. Use information and reports to improve department processes, services and efficiency.
- Union contract administration including responding to grievances and understanding contract interpretation for assigned functions.
- Provide on-the-job training and instruction to personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization.
- Prior experience in Logistics/Operations functions.
- Experience using Qlik and Power BI Applications, Oracle, and Delmia systems, preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional and cross-site teams.
- Experience working with Managing Bargaining Unit employees preferred
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $75,500 - $140,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
