Job Description:
The Sr. Manager – Inventory & Logistics is responsible for leading and overseeing the total materials, inventory, and logistics strategy for all contract and non-contract material at several sites across a division and ensures a high degree of support to each site’s master production schedule. This role will work closely with the procurement and material planning teams to ensure material is proactively received, stored, maintained, and issued to the manufacturing line to support the manufacturing need date, master schedule attainment, and customer on-time delivery. This role will also oversee each site’s inventory and logistics processes and teams to ensure the physical and systematic management of inventory and material of all types supports the MRP system and the site’s manufacturing schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the inventory and logistics teams at each site in the division and ensure the shipping/receiving, logistics, and inventory functions plan for, control, and handle all contract and non-contract inventory.
- Responsible for driving and maintaining a high degree of performance to each site’s operational metrics (Ex: Inventory Accuracy, MMAS standards, etc.).
- Drive the “Plan for Every Part” mentality across the division through effective MRP use, inventory accuracy, and materials management process execution.
- Work closely with the division Materials Planning Manager to ensure the inventory programs and levels support the MRP requirements and supply plan for each site.
- Ensures a high level of inventory accuracy through an effective cycle count program and supports all site MMAS requirements (Inventory Accuracy & Material Accountability),
- Collaborate with the analytics team to develop and maintain reporting that supports the operational metrics for the inventory and logistics functions:
- Inventory Accuracy
- Material Receipt Cycle Time
- Work Order/Kitting Execution
- Logistics Spend
- Finished Goods Backlog Management
- Help to ensure the supply/inventory side of SIOP process is properly represented and planned for in all SIOP related activities.
- Develop and execute on a warehousing and storage strategy that capitalizes on physical capacity and supports our high-volume manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain management, or other technical discipline.
- 10+ years of Operations, Materials Management, or Inventory Management experience with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, influence, and lead across multiple levels, teams, and business units.
- Change agent and leader who can help transform the organization and maintain a high level of engagement.
- Leads process improvement initiatives with little to no direction and supervision.
- US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Some knowledge of the SIOP process.
- Knowledge in defense program planning desired but not required.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS certification; CPIM certification highly desired.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $118,000 - $219,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
