Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the shipping of finished goods and other materials, focusing specifically on hazardous materials. The role requires in-depth knowledge of 49 CFR and IATA regulations and certifications. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate efficiently with internal teams and external partners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee the shipping of hazardous materials in compliance with 49 CFR and IATA regulations.

Ensure proper documentation and labeling of hazardous materials for shipment.

Manage and maintain records of all shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Work closely with production, quality control, and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.

Identify and resolve any issues related to shipping hazardous materials.

Liaise with transportation providers to ensure efficient and compliant transportation of goods.

Stay updated with changes in regulations and industry standards related to hazardous material transportation.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with international shipping regulations.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a focus on hazardous materials.

Certification in 49 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and IATA (International Air Transport Association) required.

Strong knowledge of hazardous material regulations and best practices.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
