Job Description:

 

 

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer seeking to deepen technical expertise, assume greater leadership responsibility, and broaden overall impact. Essential Functions:

 

  • Support the design of electrical and electronic sub-system circuits for next-generation military circuit breaker and power conversion equipment, including design evaluations and qualification testing of end products for a premier defense supplier.
  • Assist with, and in some cases leading, the integration, testing, packaging, and configuration of newly developed sub-system circuits into final products.
  • Troubleshoot existing designs and driving innovative improvements in reliability and performance, including analyzing test data and recommending appropriate corrective actions.

 

  • Perform hardware design and development activities throughout the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through production, including architecture, schematic design, supporting PCB development, prototyping, integration and testing, and manufacturing support.
  • Design analog, digital, and power electronics circuitry in accordance with system and product requirements.
  • Contribute to the electrical engineering team’s hardware development efforts, including circuit designs involving drivers, sensors, power supplies, controllers, signal processing, and monitoring and control functions.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation, and present design approaches, test plans, results, and analyses to reviewers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with PCB designers to support circuit board layout activities for both prototype and production hardware.
  • Participate in test-to-specification activities, design verification, and reliability qualification testing.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to support circuit operation, troubleshooting, and test-related activities.
  • Support manufacturing and production efforts by providing technical guidance and resolving hardware-related issues as needed.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and development. Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
    • Electronics analysis
    • Analog and digital circuit design and simulation
    • Parts selection and Bill of Material (BOM) development
    • Schematic capture
    • Support of PCB design and layout activities
    • Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) bring-up and test
    • Hardware and system integration and testing
  • Working knowledge of power electronics, power switching devices, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience assembling and testing engineering designs and prototypes using modern lab tools and test instrumentation, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Demonstrated experience supporting full life-cycle engineering design and development activities, from concept through production.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with an understanding of production support and design-for-manufacturability considerations.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, analysis, and development activities.
  • Experience using PSpice or equivalent circuit simulation tools.
  • Circuit design and schematic capture experience using tools such as Mentor Graphics PADS, Siemens Xpedition, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with applicable military specifications and standards.

 

 

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $102,000 - $189,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
