Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quality Control Supervisor to lead our quality control team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality control processes and will be responsible for overseeing the team of Quality Control inspectors & quality technicians providing day-to-day work direction for direct reports to ensure steady workflow, productivity and resolving operational decisions in support of business objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Previous supervision experience preferred
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred
  • Must be logical and possess the ability to communicate well, both written and verbally.
  • Must have advanced understanding of Quality principles in Aerospace industry (e.g. AS9100 Interpretation and application experience)
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM) is a plus
  • Must be a US Citizen

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and lead a team of quality inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Schedule and coordinate the activities of quality inspectors to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that all quality control activities are performed in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Assure that the inspection of products in accordance with L3Harris Standards, FAIR’s reviews, engineering requirements, customer specifications, work instructions, Control plans, and other requirements as needed.  
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of quality control processes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the inspection and testing of products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Review and approve inspection and testing results, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve any quality issues or non-conformances identified during inspections.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control records and documentation.
  • Prepare and present quality control reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure that all quality control documentation is properly filed and easily accessible.
  • Identify and lead opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address quality-related issues and implement best practices.
  • As required lead Root Cause Corrective Actions team utilizing 8D methodology and drive actions to closure.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures based on audit findings.
  • Participate in Material Review Board and Corrective Action Board, including disposition of non-conforming hardware, containment requirements, root cause and corrective action to prevent recurrence and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Other Duties, as Assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles,  tools, practices, and standards such as FMEA - Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Inspection Plans, Non-conformance management.
  • Experience with inspection and testing methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to understand technical specification and engineering drawings
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) technical
  • Experience in a heavily regulated industry is preferred (such as Aerospace, Space, and / or Defense industry).
  • Technical knowledge of quality engineering and manufacturing and quality systems processes IPC J-STD-001/Space, IPC 610 & 620 
  • Technical knowledge/ability to learn and apply requirements to maintain certification (AS9100) 
  • Experience in identifying and nurturing talent within the team, providing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Experience in using data and metrics to drive decision-making and improve processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $82,500- $153,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
