Job Description:

 

The Senior Specialist, Project Engineer in Camden, Arkansas supports capital, program, and overhead projects through data analysis, special studies, and the development of reporting tools used to monitor project performance and schedules. This role is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the reconfiguration, construction, and modification of buildings, structures, and facility systems.

 

Working in a highly collaborative environment, this position partners closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, EH&S, and external contractors to help ensure projects are executed efficiently and in compliance with requirements. Key responsibilities include gathering and evaluating facility and equipment needs, reviewing regulatory and company standards, assessing schedules and project feasibility, and using AutoCAD to develop construction documents for a variety of facility-related projects.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from concept and design through construction, installation, and final customer handover, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, customers, architecture and engineering firms, contractors, and vendors, demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Partner with Procurement to develop statements of work, solicit and evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and manage vendors and contractors to achieve best value.
  • Develop project justifications, funding authorization requests, bid packages, contracts, schedules, cost estimates, forecasts, and expenditure analyses to support project execution and planning.
  • Prepare and review AutoCAD layouts, design criteria, and detail drawings in support of facility sustainment, growth, and construction projects.
  • Apply knowledge of construction methods, bidding processes, site operations, and safety requirements to oversee project execution and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, cost, and schedule commitments.
  • Manage project budgets, approved contracts, and purchases, and lead regular project reviews to monitor performance and drive successful outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related engineering experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience managing facility renovation and construction projects.
  • Knowledge of project budget and schedule management principles, including Earned Value Management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
