Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes across the lifecycle of a program – from development through production and delivery. The PQE will serve as the primary quality liaison for assigned programs, driving compliance with customer, regulatory and internal requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the quality representative for assigned programs
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
- Attend engineering design reviews as quality representative
- Chair Material Review Board and Failure Review Board activities for assigned programs.
- Interpret customer contracts, specifications, statements of work, and regulatory requirements to develop Program Quality Plans.
- Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102.
- Review and approve engineering documentation including drawings, work instructions, and test plans for quality compliance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action (RCCA/CAPA) using tools such as 8D, 5-why, or Fishbone diagrams.
- Support internal and external audits, including AS9100, and customer audits.
- Track and report quality metrics and FRACAS reporting. (nonconformances trends, escape trends etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in support of program and organizational goals.
- Interface with regulatory bodies regarding quality issues and resolutions as required.
- Participate in Operations Department Gemba floor meetings and verbally deliver relevant Quality messages to the team.
- Provide support for other quality program functions as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel/Outlook/Word/PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100, AS9145, AS9102).
- Experienced in the MRB Process and working in a Manufacturing environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment while maintaining professional Quality separation
- Knowledge of RCCA processes and methodology
- Demonstrated experience working in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Experience in the Space and Defense Industry is preferred
- ASQ certification (CQT, CQI, CQE, CMQ/OE) or demonstrated application of these principles on programs.
- Experience working with IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 a plus
- Able to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Experience working with the QMS functions within SAP
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $61,000- $113,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
